The emotional Vigil was peaceful and was a outlet for the community to show how they felt about this brutal murder.
The family is understandably mourning the loss of their 14 year old child who had his whole life ahead of him.

The teenager was stabbed to death on College Road in Kingstanding on the 31st May 2021.

The Vigil was attended by Dea-John’s mother Joan Morris and his brother Kirk Bryan
His family and close relatives gathered with hundreds of people from across the city.
The senseless murder has united many in condemnation of the actions that has resulted in 5 people charged with murder .

West Midlands police have charged two more teenagers with Dae Johns murder
This takes the total charged to five.
A 14-year-old boy from Wolverhampton and 16-year-old from Great Barr have been remanded in custody
They are due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (7 June).
Another 14-year-old boy and two men – aged 35 and 38 – have already been at court and been further remanded.
The adults charged with his murder are George Khan and Michael Shields.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Mobberley, from our homicide team, said:

The police confirmed reports of “racial slurs” aimed at Dae John before his murder.

According to The Sun newspaper they said they understand police were supposed to arrange a meeting with Deajohn the day after last Wednesday’s Murder.
West Midlands Police says it has referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct
This is because of previous engagement with the victim.
“As part of the investigation, officers are looking at previous incidents involving the victim and we have voluntarily referred the case to the IOPC.”
