Guns seized and two arrested in Bedfordshire raids

Officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) seized an automatic firearm and a handgun, following warrants at residential addresses in Lake Street. Two men, one in their 20s and one in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and taken into custody for further questioning.

ERSOU’s teams were supported by resources from Bedfordshire Police, Metropolitan Police, and Essex Police.

Detective Chief Inspector Trevor Davidson said: “It goes without saying that illegal firearms present a real danger in our communities, and this result follows significant work by a number of law enforcement agencies. “We are committed to ensuring illegal firearms aren’t able to make it onto our streets and I have no doubt seizing these weapons has stopped future casualties.”

Detective Chief Inspector Louisa Glynn, from Bedfordshire Police, said: “Bedfordshire continues to face significant challenges around serious violence, exploitation and organised crime.

Firearms were seized and two men arrested following dawn raids in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, as part of an investigation into the supply of firearms.
