The most recent release from Wiley was the album titled Anti-Systemic.
The title makes reference to the artist’s past controversies relating to why he had socials removed.
Since being suspended from several social media accounts back in July and August following anti-semitic posts published on his Twitter account, many have been waiting to hear some of Wiley’s thoughts and he opens up completely on a new project.
The production on “Speaks” is insightful throughout, prompting Wiley to hit us with some straight-talking and from-the-heart lyrics related to cancel culture, his commitment to grime and more.
He was set to perform in Birmingham on the 27th and was arranging a Birmingham vs London grime clash at a secret location.
He also attended The Gallery 37 showcase with Punch records two days ago with Troads and others.
Accusations
But following the news of his case breaking, Birmingham mc Deadly shared the article on the burglary charges and Wiley has accused him of “snitching”
Wiley’s twitter has since been suspended again.
Before the mc socials were taken down he was regulary posting his day to day activities and working with a-lot of musicians across the country.
He was making regular trips to Birmingham and attending studio sessions and cyphers.
He has never reiterated the anti semetic rhetoric since and expressed sincere regret on any offence caused to the jewish community.
He has also taken to social media to say “do you really think I’d break into a kickboxers house and kick him.”
The accusations in the charges are serious if convicted and he could face a custodial sentence.
Since Wiley did the Sky interview following his tweets that upset the Jewish community, his music has been removed form streaming platforms.
His YouTube channel was deleted and also Spotify which were sources of revenue for the artist.
This will have impacted his pocket as he admitted this is what he believed was the intention.
The Godfather of Grime Wiley is to appear in court charged with burglary and assaulting a former friend
The court claim Wiley was a friend of 53-year-old Mr Jacko who called police after a row allegedly erupted with plates apparently being smashed in the flat in Forest Gate, East London.
Wiley, from Tower Hamlets, East London, is understood to have used Mr Jacko’s recording studio before the pandemic.
Police said in a statement “The occupant, an adult male, sustained a minor injury.”
The musician was honoured with an MBE in the 2018 New Years Honours for services to music.
In the aftermath of his comments, Wiley denied being racist in an interview with Sky News.
“I just want to apologise for generalising and going outside of the people who I was talking to within the workspace and workplace I work in,” he said, claiming that a disagreement with his manager, who is Jewish, had prompted the tirade.
“My comments should not have been directed to all Jews or Jewish people. I want to apologise for generalising, and I want to apologise for comments that were looked at as antisemitic.”

Rapper Dizzee Rascal has denied headbutting his ex-girlfriend at a home in south London this summer.
The 36-year-old, of Sevenoaks in Kent, pleaded not guilty to “pushing his head into the complainant’s head and pushing her to the floor” at an address in Streatham on 8 June.
A woman reported minor injuries in the alleged attack, police previously said.
The grime artist is due to go on trial at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on 18 February 2022.
He was charged with assault by beating on 2 August.
Dizzee Rascal’s manager, who “received a phone call when the altercation took place”, will give evidence at the trial, along with his ex-girlfriend’s mother, the court heard.
The rapper, whose real name is Dylan Kwabena Mills, was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours in 2020 for his services to music and has performed at various festivals throughout August.
He was released on conditional bail following the hearing.
It has been a hell of a year for Wiley and it is sad to see a man with such a impactful legacy be dragged through the media.
