A murder investigation is underway after a man was found with stab wounds in Kings Norton last night (1 Oct).

The man, in his 20s, was found with serious injuries in Middleton Hall Road around 9.30pm and sadly died in hospital this morning.

The man’s family have been informed and is being supported by specialist officers after receiving just devastating news.

The road is closed at the junctions with Lomaine Drive and Station Road, along with Selly Oak Road at Northfield Road, while forensic examinations are carried out. Officers are conducting door to door enquiries and looking at CCTV in the area.

At this stage it is unclear how the victim came about his injuries 



This happened on the same day West Midlands police released footage of a Armed robbery in Dudley, Old park road this week at a newsagents.

Robbers used machete and axe to take money from the till.

Two men have been arrested and machetes recovered by police after rival groups clashed outside a city pub.

The pair were held on suspicion of possessing knives after the disorder broke out near the Square Peg pub in Corporation Street, Birmingham city centre, at around 5.15pm today, October 1.

West Midlands Police said two teenagers – one of whom was bleeding from a head wound – ran into the pub and staff locked the door.

The men were later held by cops after two machetes were seized from the pub.

The violence was said to “targeted attacks between groups and not random attacks in the street”, police added.

A statement by the force said: “We’ve arrested two men and seized weapons after reports of clashes between two groups in Birmingham city centre this afternoon.

“It happened in Corporation Street by the Square Peg at around 5.15pm after staff there reported two teenagers running into the pub, one of whom was bleeding from a head wound.

“We’re told staff there did a great job in quickly locking up to ensure no-one followed the pair inside; no customers or staff were hurt.

“Two machetes were seized from the pub and both men arrested on suspicion of possessing knives.

“We believe the two had been involved in a disorder nearby and our officers are looking for others who may have been involved.
