5 Stabbings in 3 days across Croydon leaves teens in hospital

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 3.21pm on 14.4.22 to reports of a man stabbed on Headley Drive in New Addington. This was the 1st of 5 stabbings over 3 days in Croydon alone. Metropolitan Police officers and an air ambulance attended, and the man was rushed to a South London hospital.

The police have confirmed his condition is not believed to be life-threatening. His family has been informed. No arrests have yet been made and enquiries continue.

Police are examining the crime scene as forensic officers appear to be focused on a white car within the crime scene. A police cordon is still in place as police officers continue to carry out their investigations. The road is still blocked between Dunley Drive and Leigh Crews.

Triple stabbing 15.4.22

Three teenage boys have been stabbed in South London this afternoon in a daylight attack in Croydon. A fight broke out on Goldcrest Way in New Addington and police were called to the scene at 4.35pm on Friday (April 15).  Three teenagers, aged 15, 16 and 18, have been stabbed and rushed to hospital.

Police have confirmed on Saturday morning (April 16) that none of the boys are in life threatening condition.

Two people have now been arrested. Goldcrest Way in New Addington is still blocked at both ends after a triple stabbing earlier today.

An anonymous resident said: “I’m coming home from shopping, I’m driving down the road on King Henry’s Drive. I see two young lads and one fell down to the floor and got up. I thought they were having a laugh. I did wonder about it, if he was okay or if it was a joke.

“My neighbour said ‘What’s going on? I have never seen so many police going down the road.’ I said I know, I was overtaken by an unmarked police car.

“The lad who down to the floor came running past me, then his friend said ‘Miss, miss, can you give me a lift. I saw my friend has just been stabbed.’ He said he was with his girlfriend. I said get in the car.

“I asked where he was from and he said Croydon. He was in tears. He said they stabbed his friend in the neck and tried to finish him off. It was just horrible.

“There were three boys and a girl. The girlfriend had tears rolling down her eyes. I just rubbed her arm and I did not know what to say, he’s with the right people now.

The Met Police said: “A Section 60 has been authorised for New Addington and wards in the north of Croydon, including Waddon, Fairfield, Parkhill, Whitgift and Shirley South. This will remain operational until 0700hrs on 16 April. Please support police officers as they work through the night to keep people in Croydon safe.”
