The offence was reported to have happened on Saturday, 25 September 2021 in Lambeth while the officer was off duty.
PC Ireland Murdock, who is attached to the Central North Command Unit, was arrested on Tuesday, 11 January 2022.
He appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 29 April, where he was bailed to appear at Inner London Crown Court on Friday, 27 May.
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards have been informed, as has the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
The victim is being supported by specialist officers.
PC Murdock has been suspended.
