A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of Lillia Valutyte. Lillia, 9, died at Fountain Lane, Boston, at around 6.20pm on Thursday, July 28, of what police believe to be a stab wound. Lincolnshire Police then announced a murder investigation and appealed for information about a man pictured on CCTV. A man was arrested at 2.45pm on Saturday, July 30, in the Boston Central Park area.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He is now in police custody. “Officers detained the man in the Boston Central Park area at around 2.45pm today (July 30). The arrest follows a combination of intelligence and information supplied by several members of the public. “We’d like to thank everyone for their assistance as we continue our investigation. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

CCTV images have since been released of a man officers would like to speak to. The CCTV images were taken in the Wormgate and Fountain Lane area at around 6.15pm on July 28.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We would appeal to anyone who was in that area at the time of the offence, or anyone who may have captured the person we wish to speak with on dashcam, CCTV, or a mobile phone to come forward.” The spokesperson also responded to reports of a video on social media.
Lincolnshire Police has made two arrests in connection with the death of a 9-year-old girl in Boston. The force confirmed that the arrests had been made during a press conference in Boston on Friday morning.
Police say that they cannot issue any more details due to active lines of enquiry. They said that they are continuing to pursue a number of lines of enquiry, whilst reiterating the importance of the public coming forward with any information.
