BMW X5 Police helicopter chase in Wolverhampton

A dramatic police chase saw cops deploy a helicopter and stringers against a ‘stolen’ BMW X5 in the West Midlands. The vehicle was allegedly taken in Bordesley Green, Birmingham.

But the silver-coloured vehicle was soon spotted by West Midlands Police in Wolverhampton, around 20 miles away. A helicopter was deployed to track down the vehicle before officers used a stinger against it.

However, the SUV still drove off from police. But the chase eventually ended and the suspected driver was arrested by pursuing cops.

Photos from the scene showed the BMW with punctured tyres. A suspect was also seen lying on their front on the floor, with their arms in handcuffs.

The incident was revealed by WMP Traffic, which tweeted: “This BMW X5 was stolen from Bordesley Green in a test drive offence a short time before we saw it in Wolverhampton. It was stung before it made off but was tracked from above by helicopter resulting in the driver being arrested after decamping.”
