Man charged with Hackney wick murder of Trei Daley

Detectives investigating the murder of Trei Daley in Hackney Wick have charged a man.

Christopher Appiah-Blay, 35 (09.02.88), of Wick Road, Hackney, was charged on Tuesday, 14 February, with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was kept in custody and will appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on the same day.

Police were called at around 04:30hrs on Saturday, 11 February, to two people having presented at an east London hospital; both having suffered stab injuries.

Despite the efforts of medics, one of the men died at hospital. His family were informed and he was identified as Trei Daley, aged 26, of Bromley, south London.

A post-mortem examination on Tuesday, 14 February found the cause of Trei’s death to have been a stab wound to the chest.

The second man, aged 24, was discharged from hospital later that same day.
