£1million in cannabis found in Wolverhampton raids

Officers in Wolverhampton have been working hard over the last 48 hours to carry out two emergency drugs warrants. They discovered more than 1000 cannabis plants in Sunbeam Street and Upper Villiers Street, Blakenhall, after concerns were raised about the electrics in the area by National Grid.

This excellent team effort involved neighbourhood teams in Bilston, Ettingshall, Heath Town and Wednesfield, supported by other Wolverhampton police teams to swear and execute the warrants with each location having multiple rooms all used for growing cannabis.

These two cannabis factories are likely linked and significant disruption has been caused to organised crime with approximately £1,000,000 worth of cannabis being seized.

We continue to act dynamically on information and intelligence to make our communities safer.
