Shots fired in Frankley after man attacked with machete

Police are investigating after shots were fired and a man struck with a machete during a street fight. The emergency services were called after a disturbance broke out in Arden Road, Frankley, around 7.50pm on Friday (Sep 15).

Shots were also fired but no one else is believed to have been hit. One man, in his 20s, did suffer injuries to his shoulder which were said to have been caused by a machete.

He remains in hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening. Two men were arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Extra patrols will be taking place over the coming days.
