Birmingham Police officers have referred themselves to a watchdog after a man sustained serious injuries after falling from a city tower block.
West Midlands Police were called to Auckland House, off Welsh House Farm Road, Harborne, on Friday afternoon after a resident expressed worries about the behaviour of a neighbour.
At 2pm, the man is said to have fallen from the window. He suffered serious injuries today remained in critical condition in hospital.
A police presence remained on the scene today (Saturday, October 2).
The matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct and the force’s own Professional Standards Department who will look into the circumstances.
A spokeswoman from West Midlands Police said: “A man sustained serious injuries after falling a Birmingham tower block.
“We attended Auckland House in Welsh House Farm Road, Harborne, on Friday afternoon after a resident raised concerns over the behaviour of a neighbour.
At around 2pm a man fell from [a] window; he is currently in a critical condition in hospital.”
The spokeswoman added: “The matter has been referred to the IOPC for an assessment and our own Professional Standards Department are looking into the circumstances.”

This guy dale Morgan murdered his mum and left her in her flat for 2-3 months over the Christmas period, I used to drive passed him every morning on my way to work.. he would still go over his mums flat to walk her dog to try cover up his crime, please could you do a video about it, thank you very much x
