£1 million cannabis factory in Rainham raided

Detectives from the East Area Drugs Focus Desk, supported by Neighbourhoods officers, conducted a drugs warrant at a commercial premises in Ferry Lane, Rainham on Tuesday, 30 November. 

On entry, officers found that the property was being used as a cannabis factory.

More than 1000 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of £1,000,000, and cultivation equipment were seized by officers and removed from the venue. 

Detective Sergeant Owen Morgan of the East Area Command said: “A seizure of this magnitude will undoubtedly have an impact on drugs supply on London’s streets. We know that there is a link between drugs and violent crime, with both having a devastating impact on our communities.

“We remain focused and committed to disrupting and preventing drug supply in Havering, Redbridge and Barking and Dagenham. 

“All information received from the public is acted upon and I urge anyone who is aware of any suspicious activity to report it to the police as soon as possible.”

There have been no arrests at this time. Enquiries continue.
