House shot multiple times in latest Lancashire incident

Shots were reportedly fired at a house in Skelmersdale in the early hours of this morning.

Police are currently searching Fairstead after a suspected gun was fired at a property in the area. 

Emergency services attended the scene, at around 3.50am today, on Monday, January 10, and confirmed that no-one was injured.

Officers believe that the incident was a targeted attack, however the investigation is in its early stages.

Images from the scene show that a downstairs window of one of the properties on the residential street has been peppered with bullets.

It appears that the window has been smashed multiple times, with at least five holes in the glass.

Lancashire police have upped patrols in the area after the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We were called at 3.50am today (Monday, January 10 th ) to a report of a suspected firearms discharge in Skelmersdale.

“Officers attended an address in Fairstead where it is believed a firearm was discharged towards a property.

“Enquiries are underway but at this stage we believe the incident to be a targeted attack.

“Reassurance patrols have been stepped up in the area and anyone with concerns should speak to an officer.
