British Narco arrested in Spain by armed police

 In total, the Civil Guard has detained almost 12,000 people required by both national and international orders throughout the year 2022

October 15, 2023.- The Civil Guard has arrested in Jávea (Alicante) a British citizen wanted by the authorities of his country since 2020 for drug trafficking, money laundering and membership in a criminal organization.

Specifically, it is directly related to the importation of large quantities of different narcotics into your country, following the analysis carried out by United Kingdom researchers on different tapped encrypted servers used by different criminal organizations in their communications.

The Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard, in line with the fluid international police cooperation developed with different countries, received information about the possible whereabouts of a fugitive from the British NCA (National Crime Agency).

With the information received, this investigation was carried out, which made it possible to locate people close to the fugitive in the province of Alicante and after weeks of intense and discreet actions, the fugitive was located and arrested in the municipality of Jávea (Alicante).

In the same way, the address where he was hiding was searched, involving investigators from the NCA and the London Metropolitan Police, along with agents from the Central Operational Unit.

“Homicides and Escapes from Justice Investigation Conference”
In this sense and in relation to the effort that the Civil Guard makes in this area of ​​escapes from justice, last week the “XVIII Conference on Investigation of Homicides and Escapes from Justice” were held, organized by the Technical Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard.

These conferences have the purpose of reinforcing specialized knowledge in the field of investigation of these types of crimes, for which presentations have been developed led by both internal officials, as well as those from the judiciary and the prosecutor’s office, with operational issues such as asset analysis, forensic , negotiation, demonstration and interviews, as well as the management of useful tools to clarify and arrest perpetrators and those fleeing from justice, highlighting the importance of international cooperation for the success of this type of investigation.

Regarding the detention of wanted people, in 2022 alone, the Civil Guard detained 11,725 ​​people by national order and 191 wanted by international order.

As a reference to the importance of this type of investigation for the Civil Guard, last year alone a total of 389 intentional homicides and murders were investigated, of which 369 were clarified, which represents 94.86%.

This operation has been carried out by the Justice Escape Team of the Central Operational Unit, with the support of different Units of the Alicante Civil Guard Command. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction number 5 of the National Court, which decreed prison for him.
